Commercial Finance Analyst
Your new role
The Finance Analyst will play a key role within the Sofology Commercial Finance function and will report into the Senior Finance Business Partner. The Commercial Finance team are at the forefront of all business activities, a key driver of change, providing essential information utilised across key decision making. This position will suit a bright, analytical, agile, problem solver who has the aspiration of becoming a Finance Business Partner and qualified accountant. The successful candidate will ideally be a part-qualified accountant who will gain valuable mentoring in the role with a view to becoming fully qualified within three years.

Producing key weekly reports to understand performance with primary focus on our Supply Chain, Service and Central Operations functions

Business partnering with Supply Chain, Service and Central Operations leadership team and providing clear ad-hoc reporting to help drive decision making and improvements in the business

Assisting in preparing annual budgets, recurring forecasts and monitoring performance in conjunction with the management team

Undertake review of stock and stock processes, providing insightful reporting and assisting with management accounts processes involving stock

Producing monthly P&L review templates with commentary around any significant variances

Calculation of monthly bonus payments for the Customer Services team

Any ad-hoc tasks appropriate to the role and support with general reporting across all areas of the business
In an ideal world...
-
Finance experience with a preference for experience gained in a commercial finance environment
-
Part qualified AAT, ACCA or CIMA
-
Advanced Microsoft Excel, with experience of working with Google Sheets also advantageous
-
Ability to collaborate and communicate with people of all levels of seniority and achieve continuous improvements in process and efficiency

Organised with a strong focus on detail and have the ability to identify priorities

Pragmatic with a high degree of commercial acumen

Understanding of all areas of finance

Financial modelling skills

Very strong excel / spreadsheet skills with the ability to quickly decipher and manipulate large quantities of data

Research and analytical capabilities – ability to identify insights from a mass of data

Strong self starter with the ability to work "hands on"
