Digital Marketing Manager

Your new role

Our newly revitalised Digital team is ready to take Sofology’s omni-channel experience to new heights. To do that, we’ve created a couple of roles to help us achieve what we set out to do, which is growing our business, our customer base and helping more customers, nationwide, feel at home on a sofa they love. 

 

Your new role will be pivotal in helping us connect the dots seamlessly, by creating enticing digital marketing campaigns that speak directly to our target audiences. This will be done through many different channels and will be expected to drive traffic both in-store and online, ultimately increasing conversion. It’s super important that we find someone who closely monitors ROI’s and can maximise every opportunity to increase footfall and traffic across all of Sofology’s buying channels.

A day in the life of...

  • You’ll be responsible for developing the annual digital marketing strategy, ensuring it has clear objectives and deliverables 

  • Putting together a plan to achieve our desired traffic and sales numbers, this should be worked in partnership with internal teams, including Marketing / Buying & Retail stakeholders

  • Build & develop strong working relationships with our media agencies, helping them understand our plans so no opportunities are missed and all communications are clear so we get it right the first time

  • Looking after a multi-million £ budget, ensuring that any spend will have an ROI that can be accounted for

  • Driving an ‘always on’ approach when it comes to specific trade campaigns which will support sales, no matter where our customers are in the buying journey or how they choose to purchase

  • Working closely with our brand team to help utilise a range of acquisition channels, such as; PPC, SEO, Display & Social, to help you hit the right customer, with the right message, at the right time 

  • Forecasting and tracking all key KPIs, ensuring we are agile in our approach to optimising plans that support maximum ROI, including any relevant reporting and MI

  • Ensuring a seamless customer journey across the customer's path to purchase, across all channels, including test and learn, creative & copy

  • Ensuring we are at the cutting edge of all new digital marketing opportunities looking at where we can improve and evolve our approach

  • Ensuring that the digital marketing plan integrates seamlessly into the overall marketing plan, and supports delivering a clear message to customers at the right point in their path to purchase

  • Driving new and innovative digital marketing ideas & campaigns, always ensuring that budget is utilised accordingly including 5-10% of budget usage for key KPI achievements

  • People Leadership: You will need to be able to build great relationships across the business, being the cheerleader for the importance of digital marketing in a retail business. Ability to engage at all levels of the business

  • Problem Solver: The ability to clearly understand the problems we are facing and support with a variety of different approaches to digital marketing, convincing the necessary stakeholders as to why this is the solution. The ability to keep a cool head and use insight and data to support the discussions

  • Digital Marketing Experience: 3-4 years experience (guideline) within digital marketing, managing multi-million £ budgets, and experience using the relevant tools to analyse performance 

  • Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to understand complex data, simplify and use to support decision making, with attention to detail critical

  • Data: Experience in capturing and using data to drive improvements in ROI

  • Systems Experience: Experience in using Web analytics (ideally GA), Google Adwords & Facebook ad platforms
