Head of Brand Marketing

Your new role


The Head of Brand will be responsible for leading the way to positively shift brand metrics in line with business objectives for growth. Creating, developing, planning and implementing targeted campaign activity on time, on brand and on budget. Tasked with delivering the overall brand vision by working cross departmentally, and developing the team to be set for success. This is a major strategic role, working with the Director of Creative, Trading, Buying, Operations and Growth teams to ensure our customers understand our brand, its uniqueness in the market, and that we progress as experts with outstanding service, leading in design and style, pushing for development to deliver the business ambition. This role is a senior member within the business (SALT) and will be expected to collaborate and positively contribute towards achieving the financial business performances as a brand but also within the Group. The Sofology brand is in growth and there are many more opportunities to make an impact ahead of us - this role is pivotal to us achieving that growth, putting our customer groups at the centre of everything we do, and establishing our brand positioning and contribution within our Group.

A day in the life of...

  • Lead and develop  a cross functional Brand team that owns the heart of the brand, how it looks, feels, sounds, and behaves

  • Working with the Trading team to maximise sales whilst protecting the brand DNA

  • Working with the Customer Acquisition team to attract more customers to then consider the brand

  • Working with the Trading teams to help with conversion, traffic and footfall metrics

  • Collaborating with the Buying team to build campaigns, ideas, concepts and identify new product winners, alongside the Brand Campaign Manager

  • Leading strategy and plans for the Social team, producing on brand content fit for each channel that is on point and amplifies our brand successfully

  • Establishing, monitoring and reporting on clear KPI’s across the team

  • Collaborating on market opportunities and ideation  for growth in conjunction with the Growth team

  • Develop, manage and inspire the team members, as well as working across other teams sharing knowledge, tools and best practice

  • Build and maintain an understanding of industry and premium retail trends to make informed recommendations, as well as the competitive landscape

  • Work with the CI team to inform the business and the brand team through impactful research and insight work, across business measures, brand trackers, customer segmentation and market tracking

  • Quality checking and approving assets and copy to meet guidelines

  • Constantly reviewing and improving our brand position and brand proposition within the market on behalf of the customers

  • Working with the Brand Director and Director of Creative on strategic plans, budgets and outlooks

  • Instill a deep customer obsessed focus within the team, across the business and the brand

  • Work with the Trading/Head of Store Development team on new store openings and brand led locations

  • Create and drive a process for measurement and reporting back to the business and SLT for continuous improvement.
