Your new role

Working between the National Consolidation Centre and Golborne, to maintain oversight of free stock coming into the business and ensuring it meets the required standards against our transactional free stock site. This role would manage the day-to-day journey of free stock, ensuring that stock is managed to meet future demand and is kept at a high quality and any maintenance required is completed. There will also be a requirement to inspect and re-grade into a new status to exit the stock efficiently and accordingly. 

Additionally, this role may require occasional travel that could include trunking items throughout the network that could be as a result of customer demand or for the purpose of Company photoshoots and delivering furniture to a customer or store to meet ADHOC demand. 

A day in the life of...

• Inspect and maintain furniture that has any defects or damage due to shipping/delivery

• Ensure that freestock is maintained correctly for stock to move through and exit efficiently 

• Report on common problems and issues ensuring that management is aware to eliminate the issues in future

• Ensuring that all stock statuses are correct and stocktakes are completed often 

• Ensure there are always the resources, products and components locally available to manage any and all issues that may arise now and in the future

• Support the line managers and action or undertake any reasonable request to meet the needs of the business

• Carry out quality checks on furniture and spot check when they arrive from the manufacturer (Random Checks)

• Ensure your vehicle is prepared with all the tools and consumables needed to complete your role

• Identify opportunities for process change to improve operational performance or productivity

• Ensuring we delight the customer at every opportunity if and when ADHOC customer deliveries are required and maintain excellent customer service skills 

• Working closely with The Sofa Delivery Company to reduce dwell time off both sold freestock and cross docked MTO product ensuring accurate stock movement occurs

• Inspection and regrading of any items that do not meet the pristine standard to be exited efficiently 

• Ensuring all health and safety requirement are met consistently throughout the team 

• Work closely with key stakeholders and update on any queries that affect customer or business

• Ensuring stock accuracy and regular meetings with CDC management regarding IBT statuses where goods could be showing in different locations (HQM vs Stockwise)

• Investigation and summary of orders which do not meet on time to customer promise
